I was always very confused by the passage of time.
When I see someone I haven’t seen in a while, one of the first things that normally come up is how they haven’t seen me in such a long time.
I’m flattered, I guess, but to be honest, I didn’t really notice.

I love poetry. Poetry is not words — words are poetry. I love words. I love words because they’re not just words. The right words coming together in the right way spoken inside me in the right “voice”…is powerful enough to whisper to me, “I know you, realize more about you than you do yourself. This is you — take a look, a feel, and marvel at how wonderfully vulnerable you are.”
Thank you for coming to me when I needed you the most. Thank you for providing me the utmost comfort, for letting me know that you were there weeping with me. No matter how much time we have apart, you still know me and you still love me the same. We’d both know that nothing between us has changed because the heart rests somewhere deep, somewhere safe. Somewhere with only trust and faith and kindness. Somewhere simple yet profound, filled with your grace. That’s the truest kind of relationship someone so broken like myself can ever ask for.
